Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signs controversial immigration bill

Jan BrewerJan Brewer, Arizona Governor, today signed the controversial immigration bill into state law, advancing in a strong politically charged debate that is already making waves in Washington.

The law will take effect in 90 days.  The immigration law will make it a state crime to be in the country illegally. The measure would require migrants to produce papers verifying their status when asked to do so by a police officer.

Supporters praise the proposal as a crackdown against illegal immigration and say they will protect the state of violent criminals.

Problems in the Arizona economy have caused many illegal immigrants to leave the state. But the economy recover, will return illegal immigrants  in more numbers, stronger and more destructive than in previous years.

Thank you Governor Brewer for having the intestinal fortitude to sign that legislation.
The County Judge elect for El Paso County Texas supports your decision. He is trying to gather support here in El Paso to get the state legislature to pass a similar bill. We definitely need it here in Texaas.
