Armstrong’s Team To Remind Us of Those Living with Cancer
Tour de France 2010 comes to an end today, mirroring Lance Armstrong’s Tour presence, as this was the last time the legendary rider competed in the event.
Even if he finished only 67th, Lance and his team members from team RadioShack will ride on iconic Champs-Elysees as men on a mission – to raise awareness on the millions of people living with cancer.
They will wear all black jerseys, with the number 28, a number that represents the more than 28 million people currently living with cancer all over the world.
The fight against cancer is a cause that Armstrong has been supporting since he was able to make an almost miraculous recovery after being diagnosed with advanced testicular cancer in October 1996.
His foundation, the Livestrong Foundation was able to raise millions of dollars that support the fight against the deadly malady.
