Brazil vs. Korea DPR 2-1: Selecao wins against brave North Koreans

BrazilBrazil managed a win against a brave Korea DPR team.

The North Koreans seem to have done more than anyone expected of them in this one.

Seen as certain victims, they managed to absorb Brazil’s constant pressure in the first half and played ell against a Brazil team that didn’t seem to find its pace.

Brazil started the second half in fury and scored 10 minutes after kick-off, when Maicon’s low cross (or shot) went into Korea DPR’s goal.

A second goal came for Brazil 17 minutes later and it seemed like Brazil was on the right track, with one opportunity after the other at the North Korean goal. Only Robinho had about 15 shots.

The surprise was announced by Jong Tea-Se’s opportunity at the Brazilian goal, followed by his pass to Ji Yun Nam. The Korean number 8 scored and his team then tried to produce a miracle, but didn’t have the lucidity to do it.

It is, in any case, a good result for Korea DPR, a team that scored its first goal after 44 years at a World Cup, and a good start for Brazil. The South Americans now lead the group that also includes Portugal and Cote d’Ivoire.
