Chris Rainey is the latest Florida Gators player to get in trouble with the law.
It seems that this sort of problem is somewhat common under Urban Meyer’s coaching at Florida.
Rainey was arrested for threatening his girlfriend after being told to leave her house. And he did it via text message, too.
Rainey went to her house at around 11 PM on Monday and told her he would bust in through the window. She agreed to come out and talk to the slot receiver and then asked him to go.
He sent her a text message saying “Time to die … (expletive) u and ur???”. She called the police and the police asked the girl to call Rainey. She did and, according to her, when told that the police wanted to talk to him, Rainey told her to wait and see what happens when they leave. He did not admit to saying this.
Rainey did admit to the text message, though.
