CNN: Larry King Replaced With Piers Morgan
CNN – For the past two months Piers Morgan was one of the top choices for CNN to hire in order to replace Larry King starting January 2011. Ever since Larry King’s place has been “on the market”, there were dozens of speculations about the person that will fill Larry King’s place and now it’s official: it’s Piers Morgan.
The British journalist will host an interview show every weekday at 9 p.m but the name of the show was not yet announced. This must be the best job for Mr. Morgan, perhaps the greatest interview job one journalist must do.
Piers Morgan is best known for the American people as the “America’s Got Talent” judge. Mr. Morgan will remain on the NBC’s show and perhaps his professional career will get even more crazy with the job on ITV where he is also hosting interviews in the “Life Stories” series. Mr. Morgan has interviewed important people such as Gordon Brown, Simon Cowell and even Geri Halliwell.
Before becoming a TV star, Piers Morgan (45) was a newspaper editor.
Larry King started presenting Larry King Live on CNN in 1985. The 76-years-old broadcaster figured in the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest-running show with the same host in the same time slot and according to his official biography, King will retire having conducted more than 40,000 interviews.
Will Piers Morgan manage to fill Larry King’s place?
