David Cameron is the new UK Prime Minister

David CameronBREAKING NEWS: David Cameron, the Conservative leader is the new UK Prime Minister after Gordon Brown’s resignation.

Mr. Cameron formally accepted the Queen’s request to form a new government. He aims for a full coalition with the Liberal Democrats in order to make a strong and stable government. The Conservative party had won most seats in the UK general elections but not an overall majority which would have provided the party the right to form a sole administration.

Since Gordon Brown‘s resignation hit the news, everybody’s wondering: what next?

If the Labour Party and the Liberal Democrats didn’t come up to a consensual agreement to form a Government, who will?

Of course, there’s always a possibility of a coalition with Conservatives. So as far things seem to go, the new hung parliament will have a Conservative – Liberal Democrats administration.

Gordon Brown resigned as UK Prime Minister after three years and thus he put an end to 13 years of Labour administration. After five days of negotiations to form a coalition for the Government which lead to Mr. Brown’s resignation, things don’t look so good for the Labour party!

Although there were true rumors about a Labour-Lib. Dem. coalition, Mr. Brown’s own MPs had deserted him, leaving the now former Prime Minister defeated.

The Liberal Democrats party leader, Nick Clegg was looking forward to Mr. Brown’s decision and seemed pretty happy about the whole situation. Why wouldn’t he be happy since the Lib. Dem. will still get to form a Government after all, even though it is with the Conservative party.

Now that Gordon Brown is out of the picture, is David Cameron going to step in and be the UK Prime Minister British people have been waiting for?
