Earth Day: US Warns Of Climate Changes In The World

world earth dayThe initiative of the World Environment Day, Earth Day, in the U.S. came in 1970 when Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson spoke out for Americans to take actions for the environment.

Since then, several events are held throughout the country, which this year included the participation of actors from “Avatar” and its director James Cameron, who gathered in Los Angeles.

In Miami various festive activities were organized under the theme “Going Green Miami and New Orleans were encouraged to save the planet with Latin music and jazz in the streets.

Also, the U.S. president, Barack Obama, issued a statement which called on citizens to exercise at home, at school, in business, in your community “to improve” the environment.

He also urged the use of green energy to care for and protect the planet and recalled that in these forty years, America has made progress with the legislation on air pollution and no water, and conservation of natural landscapes.

In the rest of the continent, scientific conferences, planting trees and cleaning of public spaces, were some of the many activities to commemorate World Earth Day.
