Eat Pray Love Movie Review – Julia Roberts is Back On The Big Screen!
The book “Eat Pray Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert was among the top selling books a few years ago. And now after the movie was released, Julia Roberts and Javier Bardem managed to get the book back in the top of the best-seller list.
The movie, directed by Ryan Murphy, is based on the autobiographical book written by Elisabeth Gilbert. Liz Gilbert (played by Julia Roberts) is a professional writer, a women who left her husband (played by Billy Crudup) after he expressed his feelings to become a father.
She’s at crossroads after the divorce ended quickly and decides to take a year off from her job and responsibilities, to take some chances and experience many things she didn’t had the time or the chance to experience. Liz is out of her comfort zone, she’s going from one place to another: eating in Italy, pray in India and find her inner peace and her balance in Bali.
Of course we get to see how much just Liz Gilbert loves men and sex seems to be the most important thing a man must like in order to stay with Liz. And she found that pleasure in an Australian-Brazilian man. The time spent in Bali, the perfect sanctuary where she could collect herself, where she found her inner self.
The movie isn’t about how wonderful Bali is, about how simple and great life can be in a world carefree, because this isn’t the perfect world, it is about risking and exploring the world and discovering yourself. Liz Gilbert also tells the horrible stories many people who’ve traveled to Bali have seen and it manages to send the message that no place is perfect but you can still find a home in any place you go.
