Emmy Awards 2010: Betty White and Neil Patrick Harris Among The Big Winners!
2010 is definitely a good year for Betty White! The 88-year-old cheerful actress just won an Emmy Award for “Best Guest Actress In a Comedy Series” for her gig on “Saturday Night Live”. The Awards, Creative Arts Emmy Awards, were taped on Saturday during a ceremony that is the precursor of the main Aug. 29 Emmy show.
This is the fifth award received by the octogenarian actress, the other statues were received for “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “The Golden Girls.” Ms. Betty has also starred in a Super Bowl commercial, guest-starred on “The Middle” and she has been very popular in her latest TV sitcom “Hot in Cleveland“. Unfortunately, Betty White didn’t attend the Saturday ceremony.
As far as the other winner goes, Neil Patrick Harris has won the award for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. His appearance in “Glee” has made a huge impact. The Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series trophy was awarded to John Lithgow for “Dexter” and Ann-Margret for “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
The winner of the night was … HBO, evidently. The network has won 17 statues while the other big networks, such as ABC and FOX won only 15 and 9. Seven statues went to CBS, NBC and PBS.
The Emmy Ceremony will air live on NBC next week with Jimmy Fallon as a host.
