French mother accused of killing eight newborn babies

Dominique Cottrez, a woman from a French village near Lille, is facing accusations of having killed eight of her newborn babies.

Even more, her husband is accused of disposing of the babies’ bodies.

Cottrez has two full-grown daughters and she is said to have been killing her babies ever since 1988. Cottrez is 45 years old and she is said to have hidden the bodies in the village she lives in, called Villers-au-Tertre, situated near Lille.

Pierre-Marie, her husband, is accused of not reporting the murders and of hiding the bodies in the plastic bags they were found in.

Bones have been found in the garden by the new owners of a house the two have lived in. The Police was called and two baby bodies were found, followed by six more, on the property.

Two of the bodies had been hidden there for more than 20 years.

Cottrez and her husband have been arrested and it seems that she was hiding pregnancies from her husband and then killing the babies.

This is France’s worst ever case of infanticide.
