Germany vs. Australia: World Cup 2010 match preview

Joachim-LowGermany vs. Australia promises to be quite an interesting contest.

Group D is probably the most balanced of the tournament and Germany needs the win tonight, after Ghana won against Serbia.

Germany looks like one of the favorites of the tournament, like it always is. This time around, they ‘ll have to work hard to get past the group stage.

The first step is to win against Australia tonight. Joachim Low’s side look like they could do that, even with captain Michael Ballack missing.

Australia will probably try to play defensive football and hope that their counterattacks bring something on the score sheet.

The good news for Australia is that their star Harry Kewell has recovered from his injury and is available for this game. Tim Cahill will be able to play, too, so Australia can show off their best football.

We’ll see if that will be enough to get something against Germany.
