Google Chrome is two years old! Happy Birthday!
It was two years ago when a new internet browser was released. It was lightweight, it was lightning fast, it was white, it was blue – it was Chrome, Google’s first internet browser. Actually, the version launched on September 2nd 2008 was just the first public beta of the browser, but it is appropriate to celebrate – it was the first time the new browser has seen the sunlight.
Chrome has taken the world by surprise. Its sleek, minimalistic look was praised by the critics for being so devoted to the displaying as much of the web page as possible. Another aspect that is continuously praised about Chrome is its updating – updates come frequently and easily. Chrome left the Beta age in just a few months, and it is being continuously updated ever since – the current beta has the version number 7.0.503.0.
Chrome was a huge success – in its first day of existence has already gathered one percent of the world’s browser market (but this might have been because of being the new one on the market), but later its growth continued. In this August over 7% of all the internet users browse the web using Chrome.
Chrome will rise one step higher soon: Google will release its cloud-based operating system, and at its base we will find none other than Google’s own browser, Chrome. I can hardly wait.
So, once again, Happy Second Birthday Google Chrome!
