Google unveils Instant Search, Enabling Users To Speed Up Search Results
Google Instant: Google’s search engine is now faster than ever, you start typing for what you’re searching and Google is already displaying the page results and is also giving you suggestions.
This new service, Google Instant, will have a massive impact on the search engine industry (we can say it’s an industry after all, since Bing has started to put up some pressure on the Silicon Valley company).
Google knows that people read faster than they type and the preliminary search results under the search box means people will adjust their searches on the spot and they will type less. It saves up two to five seconds per search, saving people more than 11 hours a second cumulatively. For now, Google Instant is available in the United States and some countries that have sufficient modern browsers and will be available on mobile starting this fall.
Start your search on Google and type the name of a city you want to visit. By the time you typed the 3rd or the first part of the word, you’ll already get to see the map of the city, some photos from there, links to hotels and places to visit there, some reviews about it. Basically you’ll want to know when visiting that town. It’s like Google Instant is reading your mind!
In fact, Google predicts what query a user will do and the service is giving the user results for that predicted query.
Google Instant was presented by Marissa Mayer, Google’s vice president of search products and user experience at a press event at he San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Before the actual event, Eric Schmidt, the chief executive at Google tweeted: “I predict big things happening today at Google. We’re already fast.. fast is about to get faster.” Yes, they are!
