Inter Milano – FC Barcelona: The clash of the titans

Two of the best football teams in the world, FC Barcelona and Inter Milano, meet tonight in a first leg of one of the strongest UEFA Champions League semifinals in a few years.

Both teams have passed strong opponents to get here. Inter offered a very convincing performance when they eliminated Chelsea (Jose Mourinho’s previous team), to some people’s surprise, then went on to eliminate CSKA Moscow in the quarter-finals.

FC Barcelona, on the other hand, has shown in the quarter-final why they are considered by most people the best team in the world at the moment. They completely trashed Arsenal, in both legs of the quarter-final. Even if the first leg ended in a 2-2 draw, they were way above their opponents and they went past that bad luck in the second leg (4-1, with Lionel Messi, the world’s top player at the moment, scoring 4 times).

Tonight’s game will be another extraordinary clash between two teams at the top of their game (even if Barcelona was held to a draw by city rivals Espanyol this week-end, while Inter won against Juventus – 2-0).

Everything always changes in the UEFA Champions League, though and we expect a fantastic game tonight, even if Barcelona, because of the flights disruption by the volcano eruption in Iceland, had to travel by coach for 14 hours to get to Milano (stopping in Nice for the night).

Tonight’s game is also a battle between two of the best managers in football today – Jose Mourinho will try to use every trick in the book to get past Pep Guardiola.

Considering all of this, it’s hard to even predict who the star of tonight’s game will be. What’s certain is that News Provider will offer you a LIVE coverage of tonight’s fantastic game in the UEFA Champions League, just like we did yesterday from the Boston Marathon 2010.
