Based on the Marvel Comics characters of the same name from Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures, Iron Man 2 is the most expected movie of the month. The sequel stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, an industrialist and master eingineer who faces pressure from the government, the press and the public to share his technology with the military. Gwyneth Paltrow is Virginia “Pepper” Potts, his closest friend and CEO of Stark Industries.
“Figure out what the audience wants and give it to them,” Robert Downey Jr. said from outside the El Capitan Theatre at the Iron Man 2 premiere Monday night. The film needs to satisfy the appetite for mythology which was introduced in the first movie and at the same time, it needs to be even greater than Iron Man. And how can you count the success if not in cash, of course! The opening of Iron Man brought $98 million in the first opening weekend only.
The premiere of the Marvel produced, Paramount distributed movie, pleased the crowd gathered anxiously to see the sequel of Iron Man, a movie which earned $585 million in global ticket sales.
Iron Man 2 is directed by Jon Favreau and among Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow, stars Mickey Rourke – as Ivan Vanko, Samuel L. Jackson – who plays Nick Fury, Scarlett Johansson – as Natalia Romanova (Black Widow), Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer and many more.
Gwyneth Paltrow attended the world premiere of Iron Man 2 and was the red carpet senzation. She went for an andronynous look which suited her for the event.
