Italy vs. Paraguay 1-1: Alcaraz leading the way for Paraguay

Italy vs. Paraguay ended in a 1-1 draw after a great contest.

Paraguay‘s Alcaraz had great game in defense and he topped his performance with a goal.

Paraguay managed to get a point against title holders Italy in what was a very attractive game.

The first half was under the sign of Antonin Alcaraz‘ s goal for Paraguay in the 39th minute and the Paraguay team looked like they could provide quite a surprise in the second half, when they managed to keep Italy in its own half for about 20 minutes.

Daniele de Rossi saved the world champions honor by scoring in the 63rd minute, after a mistake by Paraguay goalkeeper Villar.

Still, the South Americans can be proud of their performance, and now are group leaders, together with Italy, and favorites to qualify, alongside Italy.

Especially because the other two teams in the group, New Zealand and Slovakia, have very little chances of getting something against Paraguay and Italy. But it’s the World Cup and bigger surprises have happened.
