Japan vs. Denmark: World Cup 2010 match preview
Japan vs. Denmark is the decisive game for the second qualifying spot in this group.
The team that wins this one goes through.
The Netherlands are already qualified, but one of these two does have a (very) small chance of getting the number one spot in the group from them.
Still, to do this, there are a few conditions. First of all, the Netherlands need to lose against Cameroon, a team that is already out of the competition. And if that’s not hard enough, the team that wants the position must get a goal difference that’s bigger than the Netherlands’. Currently the Netherlands have scored 3 times and conceded no goals. That’s 4 goals to start with for Japan and 5 for the Denmark.
Almost impossible stuff. Still, the team that wins tonight is certain of its progress into the round of 16. A draw would see Japan through.
