London Marathon: Record number of runners
For the 30th London Marathon, for tomorrow a record number of runners have registered to start the 2010 Virgin London Marathon , more than ever before in the long history of the event. (London Marathon 2010 Live coverage)
When the registration desks at the London Marathon Expo closed at 5pm this afternoon, a total of 37,527 accepted applicants for places in the Marathon had picked up their running numbers and Ipico Sports Timing tags.
The predicted over 35,000 runners are expected to cross the finish line at the end of the race tomorrow.
The Mass Race will start at 9.45am, 45 minutes after the Elite Women set off from Blackheath, and 25 minutes after the Men’s and Women’s Wheelchair Races get underway.
