1. Souder was born in July 18, 1950 in Grabill, Indiana.
2. Mark Edward Souder is an Republican politician who served eight terms in the U. S. House of Representatives for Indiana’s 3rd congressional district.
3. He attended Leo Junior-Senior High School, Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne and the University of Notre Dame.
4. Souder served as an aide for U.S. Representative Dan Coats between 1983-1984 and 1988-1993.
5. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives as a Republican in January 1995, and re-elected again.
6. During the Vietnam War, Mark Souder also applied for non-combatant status on religious grounds.
7. He cosponsored, in 2006, H.R. 4411, the Goodlatte-Leach Internet Gambling Prohibition Act and H.R. 4777, the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act.
8. Souder authored the the Drug-Free Student Loan amendment.
