Meet the Latest Tropical Storm: Colin

The third tropical storm of this year’s Atlantic hurricane season has formed almost 1000 miles east of the Lesser Antilles.

The storm was named Colin and according to some early forecasts it’s on a track off the U.S. Atlantic seaboard.

Tropical storm Colin is now moving west-northwest near 23 mph and up until Tuesday it reached maximum sustained winds near 40 mph.

According to the National Hurricane Center in Miami, the storm might gain some more strength. However, there are small chances that Colin will become a strong hurricane or reach landfall as a hurricane.

If everything goes ok, Colin should remain about 600 miles east of Florida in the following days.
