Michael Douglas Ask’s For Pardon And Want His Son In Rehab
Actor Michael Douglas asked “indulgence” for his son Cameron Douglas, who will know on Tuesday what his sentence for drug dealing is.
Cameron Douglas, 31, in July last year, he was arrested in a hotel in New York in possession of 500 grams of “crystal“, the purest form of meth-amphetamine that he intended to sell.
Several family members, including his father, his stepmother and his grandfather, sent letters asking Judge Richard Berman for a soft hand.
The last known letter was written by none other than Michael Douglas, who explains that the whole family has been laced with drugs. To add more drama, the actor said that his offspring have to bear the burden of fame and for more auction is the result of “a failed marriage.”
“I love my son, but I’m not blind to their actions. I do not want to shred it, dealt with the actor in his five-page handwritten letter addressed to federal judge to slam the hammer on Tuesday at the Cameron Douglas case.
“I know something about the pressure that’s on his search for his identity when you have a famous father,” says Douglas, referring to the legendary Kirk Douglas, his father.
Cameron’s stepmother, British actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, also sent a little note to the judge. Catherine Zeta-Jones said the kid should enter a rehabilitation center, not a prison.
“What is wrong is wrong, but his positive qualities prevail, so going to a treatment center will help rehabilitate” the actress swore.
