This would have been Mother Theresa’s 100th anniversary if death wouldn’t have taken her away on 5 September 1997. Mother Theresa was a Catholic nun of Albanian ethnicity and Indian citizenship. She founded the Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata, India in 1950.
For more than 45 years she ministered to the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying, while guiding the Missionaries of Charity’s expansion, first throughout India and then in other countries. Following her death she was beatified by Pope John Paul II and given the title Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.

Her 100th birth anniversary was celebrated in many places around the world, including the Hariyali Shringar of Baba Batuk Bhairav which was held at Batuk Bhairav temple in Kamachha. Also, the Peace Bridge that spans the Niagara River will be illuminated in blue and white, the colors of Mother Theresa.

She fought poverty and hunger, she tried to heal the sick and help the orphans. Mother Theresa was a saint due to all the good deeds she has done to help other people. She should be an example for all of us about how we should help and treat people.
