NFL Draft Picks: Number 25 pick Tim Tebow goes to Denver Broncos
Tim Tebow finally got his wish of playing in the NFL when the Denver Broncos signed him as the 25th pick of this year’s NFL Draft first round.
Tim Tebow is the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner and was, according to many specialists, one of the best quarterbacks in the history of college football. This must have been very important for Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels when he made his decision to take Tim Tebow on his team.
The relationship between Tebow and McDaniels seems to have hit off on the right foot, since Tim already calls McDaniels “a great coach”.
Tebow played college football at the Florida Gators team of the University of Florida, stands at 6 ft 3 inches and weighs 240 lb. Interestingly enough, the 22-year old is born in the Philippines.
He began to start for the Gators as a quarterback in his sophomore season, 2007. That year he broke the SEC records for number of rushing touchdowns and total touchdowns.
In 2008 he broke the school record of rushing touchdowns, by running his 37th.
He decided not to make himself available for the 2009 NFL Draft and chose to spend his senior year playing college football. He also had shoulder surgery after.
He got his 50 and 51st rushing touchdown in October 2009, breaking the SEC career record.
Let’s see how this college football great will do in the NFL.
