Obama and Calderon slams Arizona Immigration Law
President Obama supports Mexican President Felipe Calderon and slammed Arizona’s Immigration Law on Wednesday saying it is potentially discriminatory.
Mr. Obama has asked for a review from the Justice Department about this which will be made public. If the Department of Justice determines that the Arizona immigration law is illegal, it will be changed.
The US President met Mexican President Felipe Calderon in a bilateral meeting and has assured him that the Department of Justice will make sure the law is not constraining human rights and it is not discriminatory, according to Calderon’s statement when asked about the Arizona law. The Mexican President talked about the migrant Mexican workers who are very much needed in the current US economy and about their significant contribution to the society of the US.
“Today, I want every American to know my administration has devoted unprecedented resources in personnel and technology to securing our border,” Mr. Obama said in his statement in Rose Garden. “Illegal immigration is down, not up, and we will continue to do what’s necessary to secure our shared border.”, the President concluded.
