Palin’s ‘Refudiate’ Not In The Dictionary
Sarah Palin attracted the attention of the press again after she used a very interesting word – Refudiate- in a series of tweets that centered on the plans to build a mosque near Ground Zero.
Even if the subject is extremely controversial, this is not what caused the whole incident but the fact that the word she used is not present in any English dictionary.
After the former Alaska governor noticed her mistake, or somebody told her about it, she deleted her tweet and retweeted the comments, switching ‘Refudiate’ with actual words, like ‘Reject’ and ‘Refute’.
However, Palin is not the first politician to invent new words.
Famous for their creativity are also George W. Bush, with his ‘Misunderestimate’ and even President Obama, with “wee-wee’d up”. Obama chose the word to describe people who get nervous for no particular reason.
