Rent a friend: the new online friendship trend
Rent a friend is the name of a website that offers the possibility to “rent” somebody for a social event or just if you need company.
The new website offers a very simple to use service – you just enter your zip code and the search will return available friends in your area.
You will be able to see their profiles, but will have to register and pay a fee if you want to contact them.
Relationships established on the website are strictly platonic, as the site is not at all a dating or escort one. It just addresses the basic human need for friendship and companionship.
Some people already wonder how safe this could be, but, if you have already tried online dating, this can’t be more dangerous than that.
Still, the rules of meeting in a public pace should apply here too. Even if this is supposed to be a friendly situation, you never know who might be lurking behind that profile…
