Samsung Galaxy Tab Is Here: Is It an Ipad Killer ?
Samsung Galaxy Tab, the much anticipated iPad rival has been officially launched and it’s a stunner. Samsung’s first tablet runs Google’s Android 2.2, as we already knew, has a powerful Cortex A8 processor, at 1.0 GHz and a 7 inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1024 x 600. The device is also quite light, at 380 grams and looks great thanks to the glossy finishes.
Samsung Galaxy Tab also integrates Adobe Flash Player 10.1, allowing the full display of any web page.
There’s a Readers Hub, for ebook lovers, that offers access to a huge library of books, and a Media Hub, created for movies and music. Also, the codec support is extensive, with DivX, XviD, MPEG4, H.263, H.264 and many more.
The Tab is quite strong on the connectivity side also – it comes with 3G HSUPA, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 3.0.
Users can take advantage of the tablet’s dual cameras, a frontal 1.3 MP one and a 3 MP rear one.
The memory is 16 or 32 GB, depending on the model, plus an aditional 32 GB on memory cards. Samsung also promises 7 hours of movie playback thanks to the 4,000mAh battery.
