Slovakia vs. Italy: World Cup 2010 match preview

Slovakia meets Italy in a World Cup 2010 game that could send Italy home.

Italy needs a win today to make sure of their progress.

Not winning would make things very complicated for Lippi’s boys. If they get a draw and New Zealand wins the game against Paraguay, they go home.

Slovakia is not sure of its progress, even if it wins, because if New Zealand wins, too, they will be out of the competition.

A very complicated situation for both teams, in a quite complicated group F. A group in which everybody can still qualify and Paraguay is almost qualified.

If going home wouldn’t be a tragedy for Slovakia or New Zealand, current world champions Italy would go home in shame…

Lippi on the other hand insisted that his team have what it takes to go through in the competition. We’ll see at 16:00 local time if that is true.
