Thierry Henry signs with MLS New York Red Bulls
Thierry Henry leaves Barcelona for the New York Red Bulls in what seems to be the summer’s most surprising move.
The player has signed a multi-year contract with the MLS team and said his main objective is to help his new team win its first championship title.
The now former FC Barcelona player has been at the World Cup with the French national team, in what has been one of their most disappointing performances in history.
Thierry Henry is 32 years old. He has scored the biggest number of goals for the France national team in history, 51.
Between 1999 and 2007, he has played for Arsenal, scoring 226 times, another record.
Then, he moved to Spanish champions FC Barcelona, and scored 25 times in 2009 when the club won the Spanish La Liga title, the UEFA Champions League and the Spanish Cup.
He struggled for a place on the team last season, which probably lead to his decision to leave the club.
He will be officially presented on August 15.
