Tour de France 2010 Stage 15: Schleck Says Goodbye to The Yellow Jersey

Stage 15 of Tour de France 2010 proved extremely intense and full of surprises. The first one is the top three, featuring Thomas Voeckler, followed by Alessandro Ballan and Aitor Perez Arrieta.

Behind the scenes of Voeckler’s race to victory however, we witnessed the real power struggle between this year’s favorites, Andy Schleck and Alberto Contador.

The battle of the egos was so intense that Schleck decided to risk everything with an incredible attack that unfortunately caused his chain to drop.

This move cost him almost 31″ to Contador. He managed to diminish some of the difference, but it was too late.

At the end of stage 15 that started Pamiers and ended in Bagnères-de-Luchon, after 187.5 kilometers , Alberto Contador finished 7th and is now ahead of Schleck by eight seconds.

He is also the new Yellow Jersey.
