US Open 2010: Federer’s Incredible Shot Strikes Again

federerRoger Federer’s special shot in his first game against Argentinian Brian Dabul was definitely the highlight of the first round of US Open 2010.

Nobody will remember the game that ended 6-1, 6-4, 6-2 for Federer but his amazing shot, with his back facing the net, between his legs , that landed perfectly leaving Dabul stunned will enter history.

However this was not the first time that the player often compared to a robot amazed the audience with this move. In 2009, in a US Open semifinal against a far more skilled opponent, Novak Djokovic, Federer also hit his trademark shot.

Asked about the shot, Dabul smiled and acknowledged that Federer is the only one who can do that.

Federer also commented his sublime move naming it an incredible shot , slightly more difficult than the one against Djokovic and one that even surprised him.

The first round of the US Open didn’t provide much surprise except Lleyton Hewitt elimination – Venus Williams, Andy Roddick and Kim Clijsters all advanced.
