US Open 2010: Venus Williams beats Mandy Minella in 2 sets

Venus-WilliamsVenus Williams reached the fourth round at US Open 2010. Is the 12th time Venus’s reached at least the fourth round of the U.S. Open in 12 tries.

Venus Williams, the No. 3 seed in women’s singlestournament,  won against qualifier Mandy Minella (Luxembourg) in two short sets, 6-2, 6-1.

Venus will have a more serious test in the fourth round at US Open against 16th-seeded Shahar Peer, who beat 19th-seeded Flavia Pennetta, 6-4, 6-4.

Britain’s Andy Murray (4th seeded) defeated Jamaica’s Dustin Brown 7-5, 6-3, 6-0 and moved into the third round.

John Isner (18th-seeded) defeated Switzerland’s Marco Chiudinelli 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (7), 6-4 on Friday.

American Sam Querrey (20th-seeded) reached the third round with a victory over Marcel Granollers of Spain, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4.
