USA vs. Ghana: World Cup 2010 match preview

USA meets Ghana in the round of 16 of World Cup 2010.

USA has to show tonight that it has what it takes to be an important team.

They have already managed to progress from a group that also included Slovenia, Algeria and, most importantly, England. What’s most important is that Bob Bradley’s boys have shown some really good football. The only problem seemed to be their concentration in front of goal, as they missed a lot of huge chances.

Landon Donovan was the hero, the man that scored after regular time in the game against Algeria, but tonight the US soccer team needs to focus much more if it wants to go through. There are no second chances this time around.

Ghana is a strong opponent, and this is shown by the results that got the Black Stars here. They won against Serbia, got a somewhat disappointing draw against a 10-man Australia and lost 1-0 against Germany. They showed some very good football so far and will want to do the same tonight.

This is definitely the game of the day, a game the US soccer team will want to win.
