USA vs. Slovenia: the United States win a point against Slovenia
The United States soccer team won a point today against Slovenia at World Cup 2010.
The USA has every reason to be pleased with its performance, as the boys played well in the first half, too.
Even if they conceded two goals, they had a lot of major opportunities and played some great football. Slovenia took their opportunities and scored twice, Birsa and Ljubijankic being the scorers.
Still, the United States didn’t give up and they got right back in the game, and actually had every chance to win the 3 points. Donovan scored with an incredible shot in the 48h minute, while Bradley scored to bring home a point in the 80th minute.
The team was very close to getting all 3 points, but the referee cancelled a perfectly valid US goal.
A point is very good, too, and the United States have a good chance of going through to the next round after this result.
