World Cup 2010: Robben to miss the Netherlands’ first game
Arjen Robben won’t be playing for the Netherlands in their first World Cup 2010 group game against Denmark.
Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk said that he doesn’t expect Arjen Robben to recover in time for his team’s first game at the World Cup.
Bert van Marwijk has reportedly said that he doesn’t expect Robben, one of his star players, to play in the Dutch team’s opener. The player is still recovering from a hamstring injury that many thought would keep him sidelined for the whole duration of the group stage games.
The coach added that he doesn’t exactly know when the player will be able to join his teammates in their South African camp. What’s certain is that the Netherlands are not giving up on the idea of using Robben and that he will be available for World Cup games, sooner or later.
