On April 1 there was a YouTube upgrade and redesign, since than several reports are in that YouTube is forcing them to upgrade their Adobe Flash Player in order to view the videos. However we can not confirm this since we have not encountered this in any way.
Another problem reported was that very much people was asked to upgrade their Adobe Flash Player, and they rushed down to Adobe.com to do the upgrade, and the Adobe Flash Player Upgrade site crashed. Not it might been a few seconds of downtime but the update site is working as it should.
It looks like that some people was very unsatisfied with this, here’s a highlight from Yahoo Answers: “actually came to yahoo answers to see how many other people are asking this. it looks like youtube killed adobe’s website by telling millions of youtubers to all run over to adobe.com en masse to upgrade to the latest version of flash. i have been trying forever to get to adobe’s site, but it looks like it’s bogged down by an excessive influx of traffic from youtube. so looks like we’re all going to have to wait until adobe’s website is back to normal before we can view videos”.
The lastest version is Adobe Flash Player version 10.0.45.2 available for download at adobe.com
