Zac Efron: More maturity for the actor in “Charlie St. Cloud”

Zac Efron has a solid performance in Charlie St. Cloud, a drama directed by Burr Steers.

The movie is a good opportunity for Efron to show that he has what it takes to be a serious actor.

The movie is the story of two brothers, Charlie and Sam. Charlie promises Sam, the little brother, to teach him how to pitch, every night of the summer. Charlie is a good student, with chances to go to Stanford.

One night, the two boys are hit by a drunk driver, as they are going to see a baseball game. Sam is killed on the spot, while Charlie is saved by a man that tells him he was given a second chance. From then on, the evening meetings between the two brothers only happen in Charlie’s imagination.

This is Efron’s chance to show that he can be taken seriously as an actor, and he uses it well.
